Self Defense - How to Avoid Trouble

We all witness or face violence and yet ultimately the goal is to avoid trouble. There are bad guys lurking around just waiting to spot someone who seems to be an easy target. There are things you do that put you into that category. To avoid being an easy target, which sets you up for attack, you need to learn street smarts to avoid danger and trouble.

How to Avoid Trouble

1) Be confident but not cocky. Walk with good confident posture and look like a person on a mission. You're powerful and confident and on your way.

2) Be cool, don't engage people at a bar, keep the conversation light and non opinionated.

Don't stand out, don't attract attention with fancy jewelry, watches or flash cash expensive phones or iPads around in public, you're asking to get mugged.

3) Stay with the pack, don't walk around alone, stay with a group. Be aware of what going on ahead of you, don't walk into a large group of people, walk around or cross the street long before you get to them.

4) Last but not least follow your gut. If you sense trouble take it seriously. Instincts are a powerful tool that should not be over looked or shrugged off. Listen to your gut and avoid trouble.

There are times when violence comes from out of no where. It is for this reason self defense training or classes are a good idea. I strongly feel everyone should have some degree of self defense training. As mentioned earlier, criminals have a good eye for spotting someone who's an easy mark. A person with self defense training has an air of confidence that lets the attacker know I don't think this person will fold under my pressure. They want easy targets.
